EFT tapping (emotional freedom techniques) is nothing short of miraculous. If you want help knowing how to lose weight quickly this is the tool you need.

If you're not familiar with EFT tapping, then what I am going to tell you now will sound ridiculous. Please keep an open mind. It sounds ridiculous. it looks ridiculous. it feels ridiculous. But it works like nothing you've ever encountered before. And -- it works whether you believe in it or not. Be as doubtful and skeptical as you want. EFT will work. Just try it.

When using EFT, you tap lightly with your fingers on acupuncture energy points on your body. As you tap on these points, you focus your mind on the condition or situation that you want to change while saying certain statements or affirmations. As you tap, the pathways in your brain are literally rewritten. A few "rounds" of tapping can remove food cravings, food obsessions, unhealthy attitudes towards food, a negative body image, emotional reactions and much more.

So What Exactly IS EFT?

EFT is a component of the new Energy Psychology or Energy Medicine that is gaining popularity here in the Western world. Energy Medicine isn't new. Eastern cultures have used it for centuries. Here in the west, we're just beginning to discover the power of these simple approaches.

There's a DVD about EFT tapping that has attracted rave reviews. It's called The Tapping Solution , (formerly Try it on Everything). It's helping to make tapping or EFT a household word.

Although EFT isn't the only energy technique available, I'm recommending it because its easy to learn, simple to do, enormously effective and lets you be your own therapist. Once you've learned the technique, you can apply the tapping to a huge range of things, above and beyond weight management.

This posting at my blog tells how I helped a friend remove a serious fear of flying in under two hours. As an added and unexpected benefit, it removed an intense dental pain. EFT isn't promoted as a tool for healing physical conditions, but many people have experienced positive physical changes after tapping.

Does EFT Have Side Effects?

Well, yes. Sometimes you accidentally heal or improve an existing physical condition while tapping about something else. Most people don't complain about that, though.

It's also possible you might experience minor symptoms such as increased thirst, sleepiness or a little dizziness in the hours following a session.

My EFT Tapping to Help me Lose Weight

I discovered EFT when I was about two thirds of the way along with my weight loss regimen. I had been using the Silva Method with great success. There's a link at the bottom of this page that takes you to information about the Silva meditations so I won't repeat it here.

I began using EFT as well as the Silva Method. I found the two together gave benefits that were greater than either techniques used individually.

Specifically, EFT assisted my weight loss efforts in these ways:

1. EFT Tapping Addresses Emotional Eating
Like many overweight people, I was an emotional eater. You know how that goes, right? Somebody ticked you off? You order a pizza. Time to celebrate? That calls for chocolate. Tired and lethargic? Bring on the potato chips. Worrying about the paying the bills this month? Ice cream helps that a lot, doesn't it? With EFT, you quickly eliminate or reduce these uncomfortable emotions, thereby removing the urge to eat.

2. EFT Tapping Eliminates Food Cravings
You know those occasions when the cookies on the shelf are calling your name? EFT takes that craving away within minutes.

3. EFT Tapping Removes Self Hatred and Improves Self Esteem
In our fat phobic culture, almost every overweight person experiences self hatred to some degree. Self hatred is harmful to us in so many ways. With EFT, you remove that self hatred and replace it with a healthy, self esteem. You end up knowing -- really knowing -- that your value as a person isn't linked to a number on the scales.
